Negroni with a Dehydrated Blood Orange Wheel
Share
The negroni is equal parts, no shaking and no fuss, which makes it the perfect place to let a garnish shine. A dehydrated blood orange wheel matches the drink's deep red colour and adds a gentle bitter-orange aroma that suits Campari perfectly.
What you need
- 30 ml (1 oz) gin
- 30 ml (1 oz) Campari
- 30 ml (1 oz) sweet vermouth
- 1 large ice cube
- 1 dehydrated blood orange wheel
How to make it
- Add the gin, Campari and sweet vermouth to a mixing glass with ice.
- Stir for about 20 seconds until chilled.
- Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.
- Set a dehydrated blood orange wheel on top of the ice.
The garnish
Blood orange wheels are the showpiece of the citrus range: the colour is the fruit itself, not a dye. Keep the pouch out of direct light, because that ruby colour is the first thing to fade.

Try a spritz
The same wheel works in an Aperol spritz: prosecco, Aperol and a splash of soda over ice, finished with blood orange.
Drink responsibly. For a zero-proof version, the same wheel works beautifully in sparkling water or iced tea.
